GT40 North America believes
in speed. It is a company that is on the move! With Ford’s
introduction of the new Ford GT a demand in the market place has
exploded for manufactured version of the late 1960’s Le-Mans
winning race machine. Enter GT40 North America.
“Our
recent relocation of manufacturing facilities left us with huge
challenges; manufacturing and supplier development along with meeting
the customer’s demands all had to be tackled at the same time.
New suppliers had to be brought on board and up to speed on our
expectations as well as our demands and had to perform flawlessly
to meet our delivery dates,” commented Andrew Broadley (Chief
Technology Officer, GT40)
With aggressive goals,
GT40 set out to find suppliers that could help them in design, styling
as well as deliver high quality in a timely fashion. Chief Operating
Officer Buddy Recentio stated, “We had suppliers that worked
with us, but did not want to take on our challenge to be the car
company of the future. GT40 had to move and move quickly to find
high quality suppliers that brought more than just manufacturing
to the table. Our strategic plan was to find someone that could
manufacture the most important aesthetic pieces on our car, the
entire body, develop a new version with better handling characteristics
as well as make all of the tooling needed for production.”

Fiber-Tech, Inc.
J. Dale Rogers, President
and Owner of Fiber-Tech was called on a referral to come see the
GT40 facility and to offer suggestion on how to move forward. “It
was a cold wintry day in Wisconsin when I got the call from GT40.
I knew before I got off the phone that Fiber-Tech’s experience
in fabricating custom molded composites along with our engineering
capabilities could solve their problems.”
“Dale’s quick
response to us was amazing. Not only did he come to visit the day
after we called, but he sent his engineer down to our facility the
next week to help fabricate and make changes to the new model,”
stated Broadly. “We were so impressed with the work that Fiber-Tech
we pulled the molds from our current supplier and sent them to Fiber-Tech.”
The internal tooling department at Fiber-Tech was able to salvage
the current tooling by reinforcing the molds with struts and permanent
mold fixturing all the time developing new permanent tooling for
the next generation car.
Since 1987, Fiber-Tech
has been able to solve similar problems leveraging our experience
in composite fabrication, design, tooling, engineering and customer
support to manufacture high quality, light weight, strong components
and assemblies for a variety of OEM markets.
“We had
delivery of our first complete body set within two weeks of the
molds being moved. We compliment Fiber-Tech on their urgency to
get the parts done for us, we had customers waiting. Their dedication
to our product’s quality is excellent. We have developed a
new supply relationship that will be rewarding for both parties,”
added Bob Hancher (CEO/Owner, GT40).
“Please
pass on thanks to your guys. The quality and detail finishing is
excellent. We are very happy. Your guys clearly take pride in their
work. Thank you Fiber-Tech!”
